EAGLES DEFEND HOME COURT WITH EASY WIN; 77-53, Feb. 11

The Parlier Panthers travelled to FC to play the Eagles, Feb. 11. This would be a game counting towards both their league and overall records, as both squads are in the WSL. The two teams faced each other in Parlier earlier in the season, and the Eagles were able to pull out the win.

The Eagles came out of the locker room ready to play, building a strong lead that they would hang on to for the rest of the game. Though the Panthers did their best to keep up with the Eagles, FC was able to put them away.

Junior Cole Nale felt that the Eagles played well and that it was a good stepping stone towards their postseason hopes.

“It was nice to beat (Parlier Coach and former personal trainer) Jared [Kaiser],” said Nale. “We went out there and fought hard and it paid off for us. But this is just one game, and when you think about all the things we didn’t do to our best abilities, we get serious again. Especially with that game against Caruthers next week.”

Freshman Trevor Trevino felt that the Eagles played well but still need to improve on weak areas.

“A win is a win,” Trevino said. “But we really need to stay hungry. When we get complacent, that’s when we are at our worst, and I’m starting to get that feeling a little bit.

“If we take some games and practices for granted, we aren’t getting better,” Trevino added. “When we’re not getting better, we’re getting worse. Now that’s a problem.”

FC is now 2-0 against Parlier this year, and will look forward to continuing their strong league play with a home “White Out” game against Riverdale.
