EAGLES GRAB SIXTH WIN OF THE SEASON ON THE ROAD, Nov. 1

The Eagles travelled to Bakersfield to play the Guardians of Northwest Christian, Nov. 1. FC sat at 5-3 overall while being 2-1 in the Central Sierra League prior to the game, Northwest had the exact same record. This matchup determined who would head to playoffs, it being the last league game of the season for both teams.

FC came out strong, putting up 8 points in the first quarter, followed by 14 more in the second. At halftime, the Eagles were up 22-0. However, the Guardians did not want to let the game slip through their grasp so easily; they scored the only 8 points of the third quarter.

The Eagles put up another touchdown in the fourth quarter, sealing the game. The final score was 28-8, sending FC to the postseason, regardless of the outcome of their remaining non-league game, to be played Nov. 8.

Despite turning the ball over 5 times, the Eagles managed to pull out a convincing win. Junior quarterback Richard Morrison ran the ball 14 times for 36 yards, along with one score. Seniors Bobby Christopher and Hunter Bachman also had a rushing touchdown each; Christopher rushed the ball 11 times for 66 yards and Bachman did 15 times for 89.

Bachman also led the Eagles defensively, with an interception return for a touchdown and 22 total tackles.
